Inspired by the true events of Christmas Eve 1914 at several locations on the battlefront in the First World War. The war broke out in the summer of that year and Christmas found the soldiers on opposing fronts. On Christmas Eve four characters (a Scottish minister, a French lieutenant, a German tenor and a Danish soprano and diva of the day) find themselves at the centre of an unprecedented fraternisation between German, French and British soldiers. |
